Production and subsequent separation of 47Sc of nuclear medicine applications using neutron-induced reactions on different natural targets

Abstract 47 Sc can be produced from different three neutron induced nuclear reactions as Ti(n,p) Sc, 50 V(n,?) and 46 Ca(n,?) Ca, Ca(? ? ) using the Egyptian Second Research Reactor. The measured cross-sections (?) are 62.12 ± 1.93, 4.51 1.27 69.36 2.01 mb natural targets of TiO 2 , V O 3 CaO respectively. carrier-free Ti(n,p), was purified a composite Alginate–Carboxymethyl cellulose/di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid. radiochemical separation with recovery yield 90 1.2% obtained. eluted passed quality control tests (chemical, radionuclide, purities) found to suitable for medicine applications.
